Morpholio Trace for Business Brings a New Way for Firms to Buy and Deploy at Scale

New Enterprise Offering Connects Trace to the Vectorworks Customer Portal, Enabling Centralized Purchasing, Licensing, and Managed Deployment, With Early Access to Upcoming Trace Ultra Tier.

Columbia, MD, Sept. 10, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Morpholio from Vectorworks launches Trace for Business, a new enterprise tier that gives organizations streamlined purchasing options and centralized access to Morpholio Trace through the Vectorworks Customer Portal. Building on Vectorworks’ acquisition of Morpholio, this offering extends the purchasing, licensing, and administrative infrastructure customers already use for Vectorworks software to the popular iPad sketching app.

Until now, Trace has been purchased exclusively through the Apple App Store, a model that has helped build a loyal following among individual designers and small teams in leading firms all over the world. Now, firms can bring the power of Trace’s digital drawing, markup, and design development capabilities to teams across the organization, strengthening design workflows with sophisticated creative technology designed by architects for the way designers work. App Store subscriptions remain available for current customers using this model, and for new users who prefer this experience.

Trace for Business adds a new path for larger organizations, allowing firms to purchase subscriptions through the Vectorworks Customer Portal with business-friendly invoicing, centralized license management, and enterprise deployment capabilities, without compromising the fast, intuitive sketching experience designers rely on. Existing Trace B2B customers will maintain access to their current licenses and continue to receive all Trace Pro updates.

“Trace was built to preserve the joy and immediacy of drawing, and now we're making sure that joy scales to an entire firm without losing any of its soul,” said Mark Collins, Vectorworks Principal Software Engineer and Morpholio Co-Founder. “Business tools shouldn't get in the way of design tools. Trace for Business gives IT the control it needs and gives designers the sketching experience they already love.”

Built for the Way Organizations Buy and Manage Software

Through the Vectorworks Customer Portal, organizations can purchase Trace subscriptions using invoice-based workflows designed to support standard business and institutional procurement. Administrators can then assign licenses to individual users and manage access through Vectorworks accounts, making it easier to scale deployments as teams and staffing needs change.

Trace for Business also introduces Vectorworks single sign-on (SSO), allowing assigned users to access Trace through their organization’s existing Vectorworks identity. Existing Trace users can migrate their projects, stencils, and custom color palettes into their new Vectorworks account, helping teams transition without leaving their work behind.

Enterprise Control Without Friction

Trace for Business is designed to fit into existing IT environments, with support for Mobile Device Management (MDM). Organizations can manage access and configure Trace to align with their internal IT, including controls for storage, exports, AI features, and other application settings. Organizations purchasing five or more licenses also receive access to premium support, including phone support and personal onboarding.

“Enterprise deployment shouldn't be tedious,” said Vectorworks Chief Revenue Officer Nicole Davison. “With MDM support, IT teams can deploy Trace the same way they deploy the rest of their design software, and designers keep drawing working exactly the way they always have.”

Trace Ultra Coming Soon

Trace for Business also introduces the first capabilities of Trace Ultra, a new product tier that will be available to the public later this year. This new offering will expand Trace’s role as a vector-based BIM and CAD companion app. Subscribers to Trace for Business will receive early access to Ultra capabilities, beginning with an increase in the maximum number of layers per project from 25 to 50. Additional Ultra features are planned to roll out throughout 2026, with introductory pricing available to early adopters.

This offering also builds on the direct Morpholio Trace integration introduced with Vectorworks 2026 Update 5, connecting freehand iPad sketching with Vectorworks design files and documentation. Trace for Business is now available through the Vectorworks Customer Portal, while individual subscribers can continue to access Morpholio Trace through the Apple App Store.
